Have you ever wished you had never sold your '57 Chevy or MGB or even that AMC Pacer? Do you feel the collector car market has passed you by? Well there is still a chance to get in on the ground floor of the collector car market and the editors of Special Interest Autos magazine have done your homework for you. Yes, you still can find collectable cars at reasonable prices.
The October issue of Special Interest Autos magazine lists the magazine's annual list of Top 10 Sleepers -- 10 cars currently available at prices less than $10,000 but with the potential to become the valuable classics of tomorrow. The editors at SIA assure us they have seen the following vehicles for sale (in good to fair condition) for less than $10,000 in their publication or their parent publication Hemmings Motor News.
The bad news is that they didn't find a '64 Pontiac GTO for less than $10,000. The good news is that they did find Hudsons and Studebakers in that price range. Get out your checkbook.
Listed alphabetically, the magazine's choices are:
AMC Javelin, 1971-74 Buick Riviera Gran Sport, 1965 Chevrolet Corvette LS4 coupe, 1974 Dodge/Shelby OMNI GLH-S, 1986 Hudson Super Jet, 1953-54 Jensen-Healey, 1972-75 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, station wagon 1970-72 Pontiac Grand Prix, 1969-72 Porsche 912, 1966-69 Studebaker Lark V-8 convertible, 1960-63
Special Interest Autos is now 30 years old and currently has a readership of more than 50,000. It is published six times a year and is available at newsstands and bookstores or by subscription from Hemmings Motor News.
